A Day of Hope Across Continents: August in Our Life Centers

This August, hope crossed borders.

From our A Day of Hope gathering here in the United States to special events held across several of our Life Centers in Ukraine, God reminded us that His light cannot be contained by distance, hardship, or circumstance. Though these gatherings took place thousands of miles apart, they shared a similar purpose to bringing people together, strengthening communities, and reminding women and families that they are seen, valued, and never alone.

Scripture tells us:

“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

That is the heart behind A Day of Hope. It is an invitation to come together, use what God has placed in our hands, and carry His love into the lives of others.

A Day of Hope in the United States

A Day of Hope in the United States brought families and community members together for fellowship, games, and time to connect.

Here in the United States, A Day of Hope brought people together for a meaningful time of fellowship, connection, and purpose. Families and community members had the opportunity to learn about organizations serving people locally and around the world, enjoy time together, and discover ways they could become part of something greater than themselves.

We are especially grateful for Timothy K. Lynn, whose vision and servant’s heart helped make this gathering possible. Through his leadership and commitment to advancing God’s Kingdom, nonprofits were able to come together under one roof to stand united in the shared calling to serve others.

The event was a beautiful reminder that each of us has something to offer. Whether we give our time, resources, encouragement, prayers, or talents, God can use every act of obedience to make a lasting difference.

We are deeply thankful for every person who attended, volunteered, supported the participating organizations, and helped create such a welcoming atmosphere. Each conversation, connection, and act of generosity reflected what can happen when a community chooses to come together around hope.

A Day of Hope in Ukraine

At the same time, A Day of Hope was also celebrated across several of our Life Centers in Ukraine.

These gatherings carried the same message of hope into communities that continue to face the uncertainty and pain of war. For the women and families we serve, opportunities to gather safely, share a meal, connect with others, and experience moments of joy are incredibly meaningful.

Our teams welcomed mothers, children, families, friends, and members of their local communities into spaces filled with warmth and genuine care. It was a time to celebrate life, build relationships, and share the love of Christ in practical and personal ways.

In the midst of daily challenges, A Day of Hope gave families the opportunity to pause and remember that hardship does not have the final word. God is still present. He is still working. And even in the darkest seasons, His light continues to shine through people who are willing to serve.

Seeing A Day of Hope take place both in the United States and Ukraine was deeply moving. What began as a vision for bringing people together became a shared expression of faith and compassion across continents. Different communities, different languages, and different circumstances were united by the same truth: hope grows when it is shared.

August Across Our Life Centers in Ukraine

A Day of Hope was one beautiful part of a full and meaningful month throughout our Life Centers in Ukraine. August was filled with connection, learning, encouragement, and special moments for mothers and children.

Each gathering looked a little different, but every one reflected the same commitment: to create spaces where women feel heard, supported, and loved.

Life Center Zhytomyr

In Zhytomyr, mothers participated in a parenting class focused on relationships with their children, understanding their needs, and building stronger connections within the family.

Parenting can be both beautiful and overwhelming, especially for mothers navigating crisis, financial pressure, displacement, or the emotional weight of war. These classes provide more than helpful information. They create a safe environment where mothers can ask questions honestly, learn practical skills, and be reminded that they do not have to have everything figured out on their own.

Through conversation and encouragement, the women were able to reflect on how meaningful connection, patience, and support can strengthen their families. We are grateful for our Zhytomyr team and their faithful work to help mothers grow in confidence as they care for their children.

Life Center Kamianets-Podilskyi

August was an especially joyful month for Life Center Kamianets-Podilskyi as the team celebrated the center’s third anniversary.

Since opening in 2023, the center has faithfully supported women facing crisis pregnancies and mothers of young children walking through difficult circumstances. Over these three years, the team has stood beside women through practical assistance, home visits, emotional and spiritual support, educational meetings, and the simple but powerful ministry of being present.

Behind every number is a mother with a name, a child with a future, and a story that matters to God.

We are thankful for every woman who has walked through the center’s doors and trusted our team during a vulnerable season. We are also grateful for the staff members, volunteers, prayer partners, and supporters whose faithfulness has made three years of ministry possible.

As we celebrate this milestone, we look forward with hope. We believe God has more lives to touch, more families to strengthen, and more stories of redemption yet to be written through Life Center Kamianets-Podilskyi.

Life Center Rivne

Moments of rest, friendship, and renewal from the “More Than Words” camp hosted by Life Center Rivne.

For mothers and children connected with Life Center Rivne, the “More Than Words” camp became a special time of rest, emotional renewal, and spiritual encouragement.

Approximately 50 participants (including more than 30 children) spent several days together in a peaceful and welcoming environment. For many mothers, it was a rare opportunity to step away from everyday responsibilities, connect with others, and simply breathe.

The women participated in activities focused on emotional well-being, shared meaningful conversations, rested, prayed, and reflected on spiritual renewal. Their children were able to play, laugh, build friendships, and enjoy the gift of being children.

Sometimes God ministers to us through a powerful message. Other times, He meets us in a quiet conversation, a meal shared with others, or a moment of peace in a season that can feel exhausting.

“More Than Words” became a place where love was demonstrated through presence, kindness, listening, and prayer. Mothers returned home carrying new memories, renewed strength, and the assurance that they are part of a community that cares for them.

Life Center Kyiv

In Kyiv, expectant mothers gathered for a meeting focused on “Emotional Health During Pregnancy.”

Pregnancy brings many physical and emotional changes, and those changes can feel even heavier when combined with fear, uncertainty, or a lack of support. During the meeting, mothers talked openly about emotional well-being, the changes they were experiencing, and the importance of caring for both their physical and emotional health.

The gathering gave the women a safe place to learn, ask questions, share their feelings, and receive encouragement. Most importantly, they were reminded that seeking support is not a sign of weakness. It is an important part of caring for themselves and their babies.

Our prayer is that every expectant mother who enters a Life Center will encounter more than information or assistance. We pray she will experience the compassion of Christ and understand that both her life and the life she carries are precious.

Hope Is More Than a Moment

August reminded us that hope can take many forms.

Hope looks like a community gathering in the United States to support organizations serving others. It looks like mothers and children celebrating together inside a Life Center in Ukraine. It looks like a parenting class, a peaceful camp, an honest conversation about emotional health, or a team faithfully serving its community for three years.

We are profoundly grateful to every supporter who helps sustain the daily work of our Life Centers. Because of your prayers and generosity, women and families across Ukraine continue to find practical help, compassionate community, and lasting hope.

As we move into a new season, we ask you to continue praying for our teams and the families they serve. Pray for strength, protection, wisdom, and opportunities to share the love of Jesus. Pray that every woman who comes through our doors will know that she is seen by God, deeply loved, and never meant to walk alone.

Together, across cities, countries and continents, we can continue carrying hope, allowing the light of Christ to shine.
